RIV METHOD  |  MEET COACH MINI

I Am Not Just Your Coach.

I Am a Mom Who Has Lived Every Part of This Journey.

Coach Mini  |  Houston, Texas  |  Certified Personal Trainer & Nutritionist

Hi, I’m Sushmita — but everyone calls me Coach Mini.

I’m a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutritionist based in Houston, Texas. I’m also a mom of two — my three-year-old son who made me a mother in December 2022, and my angel baby boy, born still at full term in November 2025, who changed everything about who I am and why I do this work. 👶🏼👼

Riv Method exists because of both of them.

The Long Road to This Moment

My passion for health and fitness didn’t start last year. It started over 12 years ago — long before any certification, long before any client. I have spent over a decade learning, experimenting, and working on my own body. I have worked with 3-4 coaches myself, because I know that no matter how much knowledge you have, having someone in your corner accelerates everything.

I am deeply grateful to every coach who poured into me. They gave me the foundation I now give to my clients.

But my professional path looked very different for most of my adult life.

12 Years in IT — And a Dream I Never Forgot

Growing up, I wanted to be a surgeon. I believed — and still believe — in prevention over cure. I wanted to understand the human body, fix it, heal it. But studying medicine in India was financially out of reach for my family. So I took a different path: engineering. And then a 12-year career in IT.

I loved IT. I grew a lot there. But in the back of my mind, the pull toward health and fitness never went away. I believe that health is wealth — and that we spend so much energy chasing financial success while neglecting the body that has to carry us through it all.

Then life made the decision for me.

The Moment Everything Changed

In December 2022, I had my first baby — my beautiful son. Three months later, my company called me back to the office. I looked at my baby and made a decision: I was staying home. I left my job.

I returned to IT in December 2023. In January 2025, my project ended and I was laid off. And in March 2025, I found out I was pregnant again.

It was a textbook pregnancy. Smooth, healthy, everything as it should be — all the way to 38 weeks.

I went to the hospital for my C-section. And in that room, I heard the words no mother should ever hear: there is no heartbeat.

I gave birth to my full-term stillborn baby boy in November 2025. 👼

The grief was louder than anything I had ever experienced. But even in the middle of it, I knew something: I wanted another living baby. And to get there, I had to take care of my body — even while my heart was breaking.

So I did what I knew how to do. I applied every principle I had spent 12 years learning. I stayed consistent. I focused on nutrition, recovery, and strength. And in 11 weeks, I lost 14 pounds — not by punishing my body, but by working with it.

Why Riv Method

I built Riv Method because I could not find what I needed when I needed it most. A program that understood postpartum bodies. That understood grief. That understood what it means to be a mom trying to take care of herself while taking care of everyone else.

I am not a coach who learned this from a textbook. I am a coach who lived it — the postpartum body, the sleepless nights, the identity shift, the grief, the rebuilding.

And I am here to walk alongside every mom who is ready to take care of herself — on her timeline, in her body, with her life exactly as it is.
